Mobile Phones and Automation equipment

I am investigating the interferences (if any) from Mobiles Phones on Automation equipment such as PLC's, DCS, AC&DC Drives, etc...
Can we safely use Mobile Phones in the vicinity of Electrical/Electronic/Control equipment?
Can anyone provide me with any information.

My own experiece with this topic (regarding digital GSM phones like in europe )is the following:

mobile phones can easily couple noise in sensitive analog circuits leading to erroneous measurement. The RF energy is rectified e.g. by protection diodes at opamp inputs, leading to a dc voltage which disturbs the signal the opamp intends to measure. You shouldn't try to troubleshoot such a circuit with a mobile phone close by.

I'm not aware of interference with digital circuits.

You should keep in mind that most of the system in use to day were designed before mobile phones were widely used.

My computor works fine but my monitor and sound card are definately affected. Try it out and let us know. Check with the manufacturers recommendations. I think they all state that medical equipment may be compremised.
