We have a UPS system, and the batteries failed and leaked.
It is outside in a temperature controled shelter unit, protecting it from water and extreme cold.
It has 14 batteries inseries, each about 11 volts.
It has been extremely cold lately.
They are old (over 10 years).
Why-typically-do these batteries fail?
Also, does anyone market UPS systems that are rated for class I, Div 2 and that you can rent? Maybe ther is a system on a trailer or something? Just an idea. Reason is, we will have to wait until mid-February for our replacement batteries to come in.
