Hello,

I am in search of manufacturers that make mobile substations.
I have found that Delta-Star manufactures mobile subs, but I have had no luck finding other companies.
Need the mobile sub in the United States.

ABB in N.Carolina
SPX (Waukesha) in Wi. I heard that they are starting to make MUS
there is a lot of companies that will go by your spec's, like swgr, transformer sellers and repair shops
good luck

28 MVA is the largest we can carry with our permit, 115/46 kV high side and 25/13.2 kV low side, we have been using a souther states circuit switcher for the high side and a Square D or Siemens Vac breaker on the low side, and Schweitzer relaying.
Thank you for the information, so are you stating that ABB is making mobile subs and that you have heard that SPX are starting to make them, or that you have heard that ABB and SPX are starting? I ask this because there is information on ABB's site about mobile subs but I can't find anything stating that they are manufacturing them and where the manufacturing is taking place. Do you have a link? Any information will be appreciated, thanks again!

Thanks, I am looking for a company with a little more experience though, such as ABB, SPX, and Delta-Star.

checkout website "new.abb.com/substation/mobile-substation" near the top righthand of the page click on for support or purchase info. Raliegh, N.C. info. Also 2 to 3 years ago I received a paper about the lack of mobile substation units in the US from the White House. I don't have time now to fine it but I know that ABB US was one of the few that make mobile units.
Good Luck
Dave

Thank you all for the information!
melspuds: After talking to some representatives from ABB, I believe they no longer manufacture mobile substations. The information that you provided was very helpful though and may have lead to what I am looking for, so thank you.

ABB has already delivered 315MVA 400/220 KV Mobile substations. You may contact local ABB office and they will get it from their centres of excellence.

I wish this platform is dedicated to technical discussions rather than using it for the vendor development activity. For finding out the supplier, if you should browse the web, you would find atleast half a dozen of them.

If you have any technical issues pertaining to the mobile substations, it may be discussed in this forum. Let us try to maintain the sanctity of the forum.

Sorry, was not trying to promote "vendor development." I was simply curious to see if anyone on here knew of a mobile sub manufacturer in the U.S. that STILL manufactured mobile subs because there is a lot less than 6 still manufacturing. I will now only ask technical questions though, thanks.

I really don't think the question was out of line at all. Promoting one particular brand might be an issue, but asking who makes something isn't particularly a problem.
