MOC for CFG Pump on hot NaCl brine duty 1

What are possible pump MOC choices for a hot (90 C) NaCl brine duty. The brine is saturated approx. 27% w/w. Due to the chloride crevice corrosion / pitting potential of NaCl I'm not sure what might be a cost effective MOC selection?

The pump is relatively small in capacity & has only a very modest head requirement. i.e. 50 m3/hr @ 20 m differential head.

What style of pump will it be, centrifugal?
I would go straight to Ni-Cr-Mo-W ("C" type alloy) for this.
If it will be cast then CX-2WM would be the best option.
And SiC for seals.

Thanks Ed! Yes, it will be Centrifugal.

Are any of the polymers an option? Perhaps a lined metal? e.g. PVDF / PFA / FEP? Glass Fiber Reinforced Polypropylene?

Alloy C is great but I suspect the quotes are going to be impressively high. :)
 
I'm sure by MOC you mean materials of construction, but it would be much more respectful of you to not make us have to guess.
 
It is a small pump, and I am guessing that it is critical to water processing (ZLD?).
The only composites that will work here are equally impressive, PEEK, PPS, PES and similar would work with carbon fiber reinforcement.
I think that you will have better luck finding cast CX-2WM than PPS.
I wouldn't trust coating in this aggressive of an environment. Any slight failure will have catastrophic results.

If it's a small pump and not too hot, a ductile iron magdrive lined with a plastic material would be your best bet. There are perhaps 10 mfgs to chose from now, but the Innomags seem to work well for us. Suspect you're too large to make a solid plastic pump make sense, though FRP might be an option- but ETFE or PFA- lined DI magdrives are plentiful. Note that the linings in these pumps are not thin- they're very substantial and quite unlikely to fail unless you have a lot of solids in the stream.
