mock up test for tube to tube sheet joint 1

ASME SECTION VIII DIVISION I APPENDIX A for tube to tube sheet mock up test but in this appendix (b) condition say that this is not used for u tube construction
my question is that i have a u tube bundle for sulphur cooler can i use this appendix's formula or not where i find calculations of mock up test
