Hello Friends,

Could anyone help me find a way how to simulate modal analysis in loaded condition. How to do modal analysis on a pre-stressed model. For example there is cantilever beam fixed at one end and the other end is loaded by 100N force, can we find the natural frequency of the beam in the loaded condition? If yes could you please guide me through the procedure?
Thank you all in advance.

The procedure is the same as for a conventional modal analysis, only you must first run a static analysis with the pre-stress effects turned on (PSTRES,ON). See the pre-stressed modal analysis section of the help file and the PSTRES command string. Don't forget to also include pre-stress effects for the modal analsis (see the Analysis Options dialogue box or just use PSTRES,ON).

Cheers,
