Does anyone know where the term Modal Law Structural Engineer (MLSE) came from and what would be the benefits of registering with NCEES to become one? What does it really mean to become a MLSE versus a SE?

No one's saying, but I think it's part of a move to go to National Certification for structural engineers. NCEES wants to be sure to have a mechanism in place in case that ever occurs. Also see thread507-114878 in this forum.
