I need to change a model from a 10 meter to a 2 meter model dimension. I have changed the model dimension setting in the geometric standards, however, I believe that something else needs to take place. Is the a CATUTIL that I need to perform as well?

I assume V4 catia!

goto Standard>Model> (then fwd to 2ndpage) you will see model dimension there.

If you change from 10000 to 2000 this will tighten up allowable gaps from .1mm to .02mm.

any volumes or solids generated may no longer be valid.

We did the same thing a couple years ago, company-wide.

Lowering the model dimension definitely helped us with surface accuracy, and gave us better IGES and SLA output.

Back then, we noticed that some volumes and faces were corrupt due to curve accuracy. We quickly discovered that the 'bad' faces wouldn't shade. From there it was 'just' a matter of erasing the effected volumes and the 'bad' faces and all parent curves and then re-create everything with the tighter tolerances.

Maybe, with the current release of V4, this is no longer the case.

Good Luck!

I would do a forced update followed by a /cln.

Twice!
