Model of drawing in rollback state

When I switch from a model to a drawing, I get a message that the model is in rollback state, and that the drawing is inaccessible. The part is not in rollback state. I can do nothing in the drawing. I cannot delete the views. I cannot even load the model from the browser!

My part has multiple configurations, and a design table, and I have just done significant changes to it. I do not remember how I caused this last time.

This has happened several times to me. Is anyone familiar with this? Does anyone know what do do?

Everytime it has hap[pened to me, my part or assy was in rollback mode. I have had it once on an assy drawing, when I did have one of the parts open also, and it was in rollback mode.

Perhaps one of the configs you weren't referencing was in rollback mode?

I have found that SolidWorks does not always update itself when you work on a part or assembly model with the drawing for that model open. What normally works for me is to save both documents then exit the drawing and then re-open it. Sometimes I must close both documents then re-open them both.

SolidWorks eventually crashed. When I re-opened, everything came up okay.

The problem is, my part is not rolled back, my drawing insists that it is rolled back and cuts off access to everything, including the kill button. I need the task manager to shut things down -- or a crash.

Not sure I understand what you are saying. After your system crashed and you restarted, the drawing opened without giving you the rolled back message. Is this correct?

At some point in time when you had both the model and drawing open, you must have edited or added a feature to the model. As I stated originally, I have found SolidWorks does not always reset itself when you are through with your edit and it give the erroneous roll back message. I have not been able to do it a will so I have been unable to report it to my VAR or SolidWorks.

I have seen the same thing and have never been able to isolate it or duplicate it. It simply doesn’t happen often enough for that. I do have a suspicion though.
There are times, when I open a drawing first that SW will tell me that the drawing and model are out of sync and needs to be updated. Normally, I ignore this and open the model thinking that it will update the drawing. Most of the time it does, but sometimes it doesn’t and you have to specifically tell the drawing to update itself with a Ctrl-B or a Ctrl-Q.
