Hello,
I am a bit new to ABAQUS and I am trying to model piezoelectric shunt circuits.
So far, I was able to model a simple aluminum beam with some piezoelectric elements that represent the actuator bonded to the structure.
I solved the system through the "Linear Perturbation -> Steady-state Modal Analysis, direct" and everything looks fine.
Now, I am trying to perform the same analysis with the addition of a passive electrical circuit connected at two electrodes of my piezoelectric actuator.
My initial idea was to apply an electrical surface charge on one surface of the piezoelectric actuator that corresponds to the current flowing into the electrical circuit.
The value of this charge would be
q = A * DV / (R+i*omega*L)
where A is the area of the surface, DV is the different of voltage (EPOT) between two nodes (one on top electrode and one on bottom electrode), R is the resistance of my circuit, L in the inductance of the circuit and omega is the frequency.
My questions are:
1) What function (user function or within the GUI) can I use to extract the (EPOT) from the solution and apply it to the load?
2) Can I impose a load whose magnitude depends on the frequency at which ABAQUS is solving for the steady-state solution?
I thank you in advance for your help.
