Folks-
Can anyone advise on how to save a model tree configuration so that the same settings come up each time a model or drawing is opened? Is it possible to control the width of the model tree window? It's kind of a pain to have to enlarge the window in order to see the entire tree at one time.
TIA!

Hi tunalover

There are a few things you'll need to do.

The contents of the model tree (i.e. tree filters and column settings) are controlled in a tree.cfg file. Set your tree as you like it and go to Settings (above the MT)-->Save Settings File. You should then put this file in the same location as your startup config.pro. Then you need to set the config.pro option mdl_tree_cfg_file to point to this file location. Use the full path to avoid issues.

To set the width of your model tree, go to Tools-->Customize screen and select the Navigation Tabs tab and adjust the size of the model tree to suit your needs. Note at the bottom there is an "Automatically Save To:" option. Point this to the same location as your startup config.pro as well.

Now when you start Pro/E, your model tree should load up using your settings.

Good luck[smile]

Is it necessary that tree.cfg reside in the same directory as the startup config.pro? There are several places Pro/E looks for config files. Likewise, does the config.pro file containing the pointer have to be the one that's in the startup directory?
