We are using 7.5, TC integration with the master model approach. Occationally when switching from model to drawing, I end up in an odd in between space (between modeling and drafting). One way to get there is from drafting, click view => display sheet. Another way to get there is from modeling click start => drafting.

Are both of these two places the same? What are they intended for?

YES.

It's not really intended for anything special (not anymore anyway), just that there IS an altogether normal situation where you can be in the Drafting module but WITHOUT having a Drawing displayed. Granted, it's not all that useful, but it's sort of leftover from a time when while in Drafting, there was a need to access some functionality while NOT displaying a Drawing. Over time, this has become less of an issue and there are even proposals being considered where this sort of module 'limbo' will no longer be something that anyone should encounter.

The modelling part of your drawing file is also the only place you can do an exploded view if you want it to be available in your drawing (though correct me if I'm wrong, John).

This has always seemed strange to me, given that arrangements etc in assembly models are available to the drawing through the master model approach, but I'm sure there's a reason for it.

Anyway, just a bit of extra info for your original question.

The reason for the Exploded View issue is really a case where an older function has just not yet been fully integrated into a newer master model architecture, and as I mentioned, we're working to lessen the need for working in this manner, and exploded views are certainly on that diminishing list of open items which we need to address before we can finish this effort.
