Hello all,

I am trying to model a fan in Ansys FLOTRAN, using FLUID142 fan option.

When I specify the real constants for elements, if I choose to have a fan option, I need to input:

1
TYPE Type of distributed resistance or fan model:
4 = Fan model: aligned with a coordinate axis -

2
DIR 4 - Fan orientation: 1 = X, 2 = Y, 3 = Z -

3
K 1, 2 - Dimensionless head loss / length 1/L
Kx 3 - Head loss in X direction 1/L
C1 4 - Constant term M/L2t2
C1x 5 - Vector component of C1 in X direction M/L2t2

4
C 1, 2 - Permeability 1/L2
Cx 3 - Permeability in X direction 1/L2
C2 4 - Linear coefficient M/L3t
C2x 5 - Vector component of C2 in X direction M/L3t

5
Dh 1, 2 - Hydraulic diameter L
Dhx 3 - Hydraulic diameter in X direction L
C3 4 - Quadratic coefficient M/L4
C3x 5 - Vector component of C3 in X direction M/L4

I need to enter real constants 3,4 and 5. How can I find constant term M/L2t2, Linear coefficient M/L3t and quadratic coefficient M/L4 knowing dimensions, CFM and RPM specs for a fan?

Any help on the above issue would be great. I am trying to model an inpingement fan for a heatsink .. in the electronics cooling problem.

Regards

Mahesh.
