I have come across some results recently that seem a bit odd when modeling an underdrained soil filter in HydroCAD 10. I have always modeled my primary outlet as exfiltration only above the invert elevation with a velocity input depending on the soil media. My secondary outlet is the grate on top of my emergency overflow structure which also collects the underdrain before discharging offsite. I can see two problems with my latest models:
1) My outflow volume does not match my inflow volume (roughly 50% of the inflow) even though I have the exfiltration specified as a primary outlet. Theoretically, shouldn't the two volumes match assuming no loss to the surrounding soils?
2) My Outflow rate exceeds my Inflow rate. In one case I am showing an inflow of 4.05 cfs and an outflow of 6.55 cfs. What am I missing?
Any help would be appreciated.
