Modeling damage in abaqus

Hi,
Is there any difference between modeling material damage using abaqus/standard +user routine (usdfld) and abaqus/explicit?

Depends on the problem, is it impact based? If so you might want to use Explicit instead of standard. Check the abaqus manuals, too, sometimes not all subroutine features can be used in Explicit.

Thank you yaston4, my problem is not impact based, it is about modeling failure of lap-joint (static test)
