I tried to model a fan as an isentropic compressor in Aspen Plus. I computed adiabatic head from the manufacturers static dp Vs flow curve, then entered the head Vs suction conditions volume flow rate as tabulated data. However the results overpredict the pressure increase by 10%. Is static pressure the correct input? (I am not very familiar with compressor curves.)

If not how do I transform the static pressure Vs flow curve into suitable data for computing the adiabatic head?

for fans, without looking at the mfg curve, are you sure the "static dP" is not overall fan differential pressure (i.e. discharge - inlet)?

if you attached the mfg curve, perhaps clarification can be provided for you.

good luck!

I made a mistake, I meant to say underpredicted the pressure increase by 10%. I will include a pressure curve tomorrow morning, when I return to the office.
