Modeling Gears in NX8.5 (No Toolkit)

Other than the CG Toolkit (China license only), does anyone have a good method for modeling gears in NX? I'm trying to create a set of bevel gears and can't find a good way to do this. I've tried using a GRIP function but that only gives the tooth profile, not an actual solid. This would also require me to make a new part every time a design parameter changed (diameter, thickness, number of teeth, etc.) Is there another GRIP out there or something that creates a solid gear based off user inputs and can easily be edited afterwards?

Attached is an image of the resulting attempt using the current GRIP.

There's an example program that ships with NX. Look in C:\Program Files\Siemens\NX xx.x\UGOPEN\SNAP\Examples\More Examples\Gear.
It does create a solid body.

Why do you think you have to make a new part every time a s design parameter changes? The program will create a new body, but you just substitute this body into your model in place of the old one.
 
Are you using the AGMA Bevel gear standard to design your Bevel gears?

I guess I should clarify; the GRIP wouldn't require me to make a new part every time a parameter changes, rather to delete the current surface and start over inputting all the parameters, as opposed to just changing one. This isn't a huge concern, and I would be okay with it if it generated actual solids. I've only seen examples that create solids for regular spur gears, not bevel gears.
 
I have set an UDF for our Bevel gears. Which works really well. It was a little bit tricky to setup up. It works well for us. We create a new part. Then we insert this UDF. Then we can change the values quickly depending on the design inputs. Or once we have one Bevel gear created with this UDF, we can copy it and change all of the value really quickly. It all based on the AGMA bevel gear standards. I do not know if this helps or not. thanks
