Hello,

I am currently working on a model to calculate the residual stresses in a martensitic stainless steel. Up to now I builded up a thermokinetic model to calculate the temperature fields, which I need of course as a input for the following calculation of residual stresses. The process is a laser based additive manufacturing process, so I used the Abaqus User Subroutines DEFLUX, for modeling the laser, SDVINI and USDFLD to calculate the phase transformations. So far it works out.

Now, with calculation the residual stresses I am facing some problems concerning the right subroutine and how I can take the volumetric strain (in addition to elastic, plastic and thermal strain; transformation plasticity will not be considered) coming from the phase transformation into account.

Any ideas are welcome.

Thanks and greetings!

As an additional question: How can I transfer a solution dependent state variable, which I used in the subroutine to calculate the phase transformations, in the next simulation (my thermo-mechanical model)? With the temperature field it works through a predefined field. That way I can use the temperature field as input for my thermo-mechanical model. Is there a similar way for the stste variables?
