modeling question- part rollback

Im rackin my brain trying to remember how to do this. In UG and IDEAS, there's a way to rip back the history, and insert new features in the tree at that point, then re-activate the rest of the tree to update after the new feature(s). I remember doing it in the V5 training class, but that was over a year ago, and I didn't touch V5 for almost a year following training. Can somebody refresh my memory? Thanks

Right-click on the last feature that you want to see. Select "Current In-work Object". New operations will be placed underneath the "current in-work object". Do the same on the very bottom feature when you are finished.

Be careful, as some of your down-stream features may blow up (especially fillets) if they reference any edges that get modified by the new operations.
 
might the MB3 pick be different or not available in PC vs UNIX installations(we are running PC now)? I will have to look for that first thing tomorrow. Is there a toggle in Tools-Customize that may have to be turned off or on to use that command? Or could the Ford Motor flavor of V5 have something out of place? Thanks for the reply. I knew it was there, and I'm not totally crazy......

Or, does this feature only exist for modeling solid bodies? all my work right now is in GSD.
 
In GSD it only works if you are using an Ordered Geometric Set (R13) or Hybrid Body (R14). Normal Geometric Sets do not have this capability.

But you can use Parent children function to see the relationship between elements.

There is also the "Insert mode" icon :

if you have a curve used to make a surface, using the "insert mode" if you use the smooth function on the curve, then you have something like this :

curve - smooth - surface

All element using curve now point to the smooth. very nice indeed !

I don't know if it would work the same for what I wanted to do. I needed to insert a few sketches and some surface operations that were requested by engineering. I remembered using the current work object function in training, but didn't know that I had to be using the ordered geometric set. I will know now though for the future. Thanks for the information on the insert mode function.

If you work for a client, and if you send him files be sure he accept Ordered Geometrical Set or R14 Hybrid Design...

I know some company that will not accept OGS or Hydrid Design. Be carefull.

What would be the reason for someone to deny use of the OGS?
