Modeling Seepage forces in Stabl

Has anyone modeled seepage forces using Stabl software? I am analyzing an embankment dam with a concrete core wall and sheet pile cutoff beneath the core wall. I have performed the seepage analysis using a FEM program and produced the flow net.

I am using Winstabl to analyze the slope stability. The original 1975 Stabl manual indicates three ways to input pore pressre data: 1) phreatic surface line, 2)a factor related to shear stress, and 3)a constant pore pressure for a given soil layer. The manual says that seepage forces cannot be modeled or input directly into the program, and that "other methods for handling the pore water pressures may be more appropriate and are described later.

Nowhere else in the manual can I find any more explanation on this. Any ideas?

If you have a core wall and a sheetpile cutoff, I don't understand why seepage forces would matter. You should have approximately hydrostatic reservoir pressure on the upstream side of the core wall, and approximately tailwater hydrostatic pressure on the downstream side, so the only seepage force would act on the upstream side of the wall. Why not just use the piezometric line? If you are concerned with failure surfaces through the core wall, STABL is just not the tool.
