Modelling a cable system

Hello,
I'm currently working on a string-actuated robot arm. The picture of model attach in below.

While modelling it, I encountered some problems. Here they are,

  • How does the cable wrap around the pulley?
  • How do the initial angles of the links change?
  • How does the drum add to the system instead of the slider I used?
What are the possible solutions for these problems?

Thanks,
Sachitha

Hi! This is a cool project!
1. Are you using Adams Machinery to model the cable? Are you using the Simplified model?
2. I'm not sure what you mean. In general, there are a few ways to set angles for links in a linkage in Adams. How are you doing it?
3. I think I see a slider on the green part, but not a drum. Can you clarify?

Feel free to share your model files and I'll take a look. I work at Hexagon.

Hi,
Thank you for replying. I want to wrap the string around the pulley and add a drum to pull it. Here, I used a slider to pull the string, which needs to be replaced by a drum.
