Modelling a flex plate.

I have to figure out a way to model a helicopter drive shaft flex plate, similar to that seen here:

I will need the stresses in the plate under load, and with a given misalignment.

I am wondering what the best way to apply the loads (torque on the shaft) and model the misalignment. I think the plates will initially be modeled with 2D elements, and if the results seem to warrant it (stress concentrations), a localized 3D model.

I'm not concerned about the shaft, or the fasteners that attach the flex plate from one shaft to the other, so I think I could model those using RBE(2?) elements.

Thoughts on an effective approach that results in good fidelity?

Thanks.
