Hello!
I would like to assess the stress level at the location of a weld. Basically this is a tube into a solid; so the interface will be the surface contact which is a cylinder in that case.
I'm aware that there is a connector menu in femap which has the option of weld, but i don't think I can use it with nastran, as it doesn't translate into the dat file when I export the analysis (I had this issue with the glue elements...).
So the question is: how can I model this welding interface without using the connector option??
should I create two material properties? create a surface with plate elements?
I'm a bit in the dark for this modelling issue!!
Thanks a lot for any help you can bring me!!
Have a great day all
