1) Is it possible to draw a 3D model using AutoCad ,then import it into abaqus?
2) The other problem is that, i'm modelling an excavation. So the soil at the begining would be rather flat ( a simple cuboid will do), but as i excavate in different places, what i do is i create datum planes and then partition, creating sets, then deactivate them at different steps.
As the model gets more complicates, this job would be almost impossible with hundreds of planes intersecting. So does anybody has a better way to model an excavation?
