Hello. I have the following issue to solve: I have gliding contact between 2 bodies, where I have to split the same contacting surface into 2 regions of different friction coefficients. While I understand how to do this in ABAQUS, I am not sure how to solve associated issues such as how to deal with the discontinuity represented by line separating the 2 zones with differing friction coefficients. I have not been able to find much information on this type of issue.

Thank you in advance

Do you mean sliding contact ? What is the reason of this change in friction coefficient in real life ?
