Hello,

I'm currently studying the effects different weave patterns have on the durability of body armour, and I'm trying to do some basic scenarios in ABAQUS to begin with. I'm very inexperienced in the program, so I ask for your patience.

I've tried using this tutorial from the official site, but I've found it to be really unclear;

I've followed it to the best of my ability, but I consistently get the error message
"*Damage Initiation and *Damage Evolution cannot be specified if *Cohesive Behaviour has not been used for the *Surface Interaction".

Sounds pretty self-explanatory, but I keep playing around the interactions and I cannot get it to work. Although when it comes to defining the Contact Properties, I do not understand what Normal Only, Shear-1 Only and Shear-2 Only mean under the Initiation tab.

I'd really appreciate any help you could give me,

Adam

mmm, clicking on the link does not lead to a specific example.

Oh, sorry.

I was trying to recreate Example 2.1.4 - Eroding Projectile Impacting Eroding Plate.

I suppose I don't -really- need to know anymore; my supervisor has told me this is beyond what is expected of me, and the ABAQUS license I'm currently working under is disallowed from using cases with over 20,000 nodes so I can't run the example, which is infuriating.

I'd still like to know out of curiosity more than anything else.
