Hi! I am Zoha from Bangladesh, starting a Thesis on FRP masonry. Historical masonry involves many types of walls, including composite masonry walls. For this reason I need to model mortar or grouted interfaces between stone or brick blocks. The simulation of composite walls combines anisotropic smeared crack modelling for masonry parts and interface modelling compatible with cementitious materials for the transeverse joints. Until now I am trying to find out if programs like ANSYS have the ability to model this kind of interfaces using the libraries available to the programs. Does anybody have more experience on the subject? Is there any alternative other than cohesive zones? I would really appreciate your opinion.

Kind regards,

Zoha
