Hello All;

What values do you use for modelling timber in structural software? I'm looking for some guidance regarding the selection of poisson's ratio in particular. Since timber is heterogeneous and has min three values (radial, tangential & longitudinal), I would assume the longitudinal is appropriate, but am I correct?

I have heard that softwood values do not varry greatly species to species, but what values would be conservative assumptions?

Thanks all,

YS
