Hello,

I am attempting to do some mechanica analysis on a complex pro-e part that was created using merged objects and numerous hole pattens that have significant instances. I need to simplify the part so this analysis can be done. I have saved a copy of this part and called it something generic so that it will not actually modify the part that needs to be procured. I want to individually select features both within the merge and in the top level part model by clicking on the feature in the illustration window then deleting it from this avenue. Does anyone know of a way to achieve this with out having to open up all the pattern tables and going back to the original merged parts? Thanks for the Help!

I would create a simplified rep.

Yes, creating a simplified rep is what I am essentially doing by saving a copy then modifying the part. But what my concern is the time required to dumb down a part if I have to go back to the virgin parts that were merged and into the patterns in which I only want a portion of the contents. My goal is to create the simplified rep in a quick easy way.

Will an independant inheritance work?
