Modifications after hydrostatic test - Piping System

I was reading a closed thread related to what type of test should be perform on a piping systems if it is modified after the hydrotest.
I work on metering systems design, currently I have an issue in one of my projects with the client. There was a problem during transportation and one of the four metering streams got misaligned, so, on site it was needed to dismantle all piping to get it fix with new packing and we provide a Torque Report including quality documentation.
Now client is requiring a new hydrotest per ASME 31.3, but I don’t agree with them.. I believe a leak test should be enough, just that I have no documentation (piping code or engineering best practice) to back up my point of view.
Is there any ASME code or API RP concerning to this issue?

Have a look at 345.2.3 (b) - you can test flanged sub-assemblies separately, it does not have to be tested as a complete unit (unless it is a customer requirement).
So if you haven't performed any welding and it was just unbolt and then bolt back up again a new test is not required.

That´s my point of view, not hydro retesting is needed just a Tightness Test as indicated in ASME PCC-2.
It is a customer requirement to perform a hydrotest again, but it is not in contract terms.
