Hello All,
I got a new job in a automation company but i am new to this industry here i have to design a modular curve (Side Flex) conveyor. But i don't know the conveyor motor selection processes and how should calculate the motor torque for conveyor?. could any one help me for this calculation please?

My conveyor belt speed is 30m/min
Total product weight is 50 kg

If you need any other details please comment me.

Thank you
Justin

Go find your own company's standard and study it.

Failing that, at least find some old assemblies of a similar nature, and reverse engineer them.

Be careful that you get the final 'as built' or 'as modified' drawings of an assembly that works satisfactorily, so you don't accidentally under- power the assembly like their former engineer did...

whose side-flex chain is it? use their methodology for sizing, or call their applications engineer, or talk to the local rep who should know how to size and select their product, or visit the website for the side-flex chain and download an engineering manual. do not guess. ask your boss or senior co-worker. it is a lot less embarrassing to ask for help before the conveyor is built.

power = force x velocity = torque x angular velocity
