MOLD on framework 1

PLEASE HELP...our framework is done, house is sided and in our new bathroom, at the framework on the tub, there is mold all around the bottom of the woodwork. My wife and I remember that when contractors framed up our bathroom, they used lumber that had been sitting outside in the rain. Needless to say we cannot proceed with construction on the bathroom until this is taken care of. Is there something we can do to get rid of it or do I need to have my contractor redo this entire area. This framwork has been in place for approximately 2-3 weeks and we are glad that it was not covered w/sheetrock, and it really looks like it is spreading.

What are our options for getting rid of this and is there anything that can test for mold in a house, elsewhere? Now we are very concerned.

“Outdoor Clorox” (not the regular Clorox) mixed ½ and ½ with water and sprayed on with a pump style garden sprayer will kill the mold.

Most of new Orleans is dealing with this problem right now. Most contractors are treating the frame with a bleach water solution. Important point is to ensure the frame is completly dry before sealing up the wall.

Chlorine is very good followed with a treatment of wood preservative or if you happened to have an old batch of arsenic that would be better but be careful about deluting, contamination, handling and kids. Bath tub compounds use to have trace amount of arsenic to control mildew but I think manufacturer have now stop using that chemical.
