I hve been handed the job of findinga replacement valve for our tin anode caster. I was told it is hastelloy lined and is replaced every 4 onths due to leaking. It shows signs of pitting and the tin in bonding with the Hastelloy. Can anyone tell me a good coating to use instead of Hastelloy?

Thanks

Temp is 450 F - 500 F. That's at the top of the range for Teflon.

Perhaps a conventional steel valve that has it's wetted areas flame sprayed with Alumina might be a cheaper alternative.

Great tips. I will investigate all of them. Thanks so much.
