I'm trying to pull the maximum end moments from the moment frames out of the model. With 120 load combinations and 30 moment frames I'm wondering if there is a quick way to view the absolute maximum moments at these joints for the drawings and connection design. How would you handle this? Do you run an envelope and then view the moment diagrams or is it safe to get the moments from Risa floor (do these moments even transfer back to Risa Floor?)?

Stazz,
I often have to find the maximum loads in truss members, I think that this may be a similar situation. What I would do is run the envelope solution then deselect all member but the beams in the moment frames (the columns will have the same moment as the beams so we can discard those results). Then click on the "Exclude" button on the left hand side of the screen. From there, open your member forces spreadsheet and sort by absolute maximum moment.
