Monel vs Stainless Steel in Nameplate

I just want to know the differences between monel and stainless steel. And also, how material selection could effect the project in terms of credibility of material and cost.

Look up Monel and the applicable grade of stainless steel on the internet and compare them. Compare chemical composition and mechanical properties differences and if you are still confused get some professional help.

If my nameplate were to be immersed in seawater, I'd go with Monel.
