We have a power supply capable of outputing up to 100 Vdc and 150 Amps dc. The typical voltage for our application is less than 20 Vdc.
We need a device, perhaps made with MOSFETs, that would be attached between the output of the power supply and the load, and would switch the voltage going to the load on and off at a frequency of 1 Hertz, with the "on" time being 50 to 100 milliseconds every cycle. This device would be triggered by a 24 Vdc signal from a PLC output every second.
This device should be able to handle the full 150 Amps dc.
Does anybody out there know of a company that manufactures such a device?

It almost sounds like you are talking about a Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) signal. Actaully, you can try toggling a PNP power transistor, or JFET if you are adimant about using FET technology, with your 24VDC output.
 
There are lots of devices available to do this.International rectifier makes them as well as most of the larger semiconductor companys.Either a power mosfet or an igbt made for the inverter market.
 
What is your intention to use the scheme described in your post?

Do you want to match your existing power supply to a load which needs lower voltage ? What type of load do you have ? Does it need smooth DC ?

Or

Do you want to supply your load with a pulsating voltage (for example as it is done for some special plating applications)?

Depending on your intention you might need some additional components beside the Mosfet or it might be necessary to adopt your approach a bit.
 
you can use mosfet of semikron company
(they can propose you a driver marking to 20Khz
the input of the driver is 0-5V or 0-15V
you can found this product in europe, I don t know for europe
