I am looking for motion measurement on dead tank circuit breakers. I have rotary transducer but main contacts are with linear motion. Angular travel is from 60 to 115 degrees. Corresponding linear travel is from 120 to 200 mm. Is there any adapter which will transform rotary to linear motion?

Breaker mfg? most of the time adapters are custom made to the field specification.

I am not affiliated with circuit breakers manufacturer. I have test instrument with motion measurement and rotary transducer.
My problem is in test results. If I use rotary transducer and main contacts are with linear motion results are incorrect.
Is there any way to make adapter which will transfer rotary motion to linear motion.

Try a "String Pot" they are usually a ten turn pot with a string arrangement. They can be had from 2" to 20" ( a long range ). You can get the stuff ( power supply etc to convert it to 0-5 volts or 4-20 ma from Action Instruments or the like. Check string pots on google and you'll get lots of hits.

Possibly vanguard-instruments.com I believe they bought the old Cincinnati Clock time-travel designs.
