Motor connections

Help, can anybody please provide connection information for a three phase two speed SCHORCH mixer motor (Type K953/4-2M Delta-Star-Star) 9 terminals.

The original panel has one main and four auxiliary contactors. Motor is being used on a Papenmeier mixer. (1966)

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help out, we’ve been struggling with this problem for a while.

Not trying to be rude or anything, but have you received no help from Schorch or Papenmeier (now part of Lodige)? SchorchUK Papenmeier/Lodige link
That took me all of 3 minutes on Google, mostly because Papenmeier was an old brand name.

The reason I bring that up is because even if someone here can tell you the motor connections, it may not help if they don't know what was being done with it. 5 contactors in a motor control scheme is complicated to say the least, most likely a Star-delta starting, 2 or 3 speed running arrangement. I have seen some Westfalia separators with that kind of control cabinet and I would never attempt to reconnect it without a very detailed drawing.

A more up-to-date solution might be to dump the contactor control and just install a VFD. Since the Papenmeier name went away in 1999 it could be that VFDs were too expensive back then so they opted for this complicated arrangement. I don't know of any multi-speed mixers now that are NOT controlled by VFDs, it's just too easy in comparison.

I've done a lot of repair and servicing of Schorch machines but i think i can't figure out your query, maybe the unit is too old for me or maybe you lack to describe your scenario.

Better to post the detail.

I recognise the design. Its a series-Delta/parallel-star 2-speed single winding. I think what might be confusing people is that normaly this design only has 6 leads out to the block with an internal star connection made in the winding. In this case the leads that make the star connection internally have been brought out of the winding and the star connection will be made on the block via the extra 3 terminals. Its not common practise these days and only really seen with older continental machines.....like your Schorch motor. If you tell me what markings are used on the leads or block. I can tell you which terminals require supplying/connecting for each speed. Scorch are a German based company and have an excellent reputation both for quality and after sales service, if you provide them with the serial no of the motor I dont doubt they will also be able to help you.
