I'm looking for a web site to show connections for a cap. start/run,240 single phase motor, and help me understand how they function.

As far as connecting to external wiring, it really isn't that difficult, just L1 anf L2, polarity is irrelevant.

As far as internal diagrams, that will depend on the specific manufacturer, but this is a general compendium of motor designs with info on 1 phase internal configuration on page 26.
