could you tell me if the type of induction motor enclosure such as tefc or tewac is related to the hp?

at times i have seen the same hp in different enclosures, and the answer is "client preference" (easy) but is there a more technical reason which could justify a particular selection

thank you

Installation location dictates the enclosure, hp has nothing to do with it.

Well, you would almost certainly not find the more exotic designs in small sizes, e.g. the ones with air/air or air/water heat exchangers. Likely around the 600HP area where they become necessary to extract sufficient heat to keep the motor at an acceptable temperature.

Mr. Beach, thank you. I woud have liked though a little more information which woud have helped Regards

I think that davidbeach's response was commensurate with the question as asked. If you want more information, you must first be SPECIFIC about what you have and what you want to know. This is not a primary schooling site for wannabe engineers, this is a place where WORKING engineers get help with issues and problems they are having. Your issue appears to be one of simple ignorance, something that schools are better equipped to deal with.
