I am looking for any good websites that detail the design of motor beds preferably with diagrams and pictures. Any tips are welcome and appreciated.

can you clarify if you are talking about test bed for uncoupled run in shop or foundation for permanent installation of motor and pump.

Just a thought -- you might have an easier time finding reasonably relevant information from generator vendors (assuming vibration is your main concern).

pete,

It is for permanent foundation.

peebee,

We suspect a poorly made motor bed, where the client has serious vibe problems. So, I am looking for standards or pictures of rightly made beds to help out my client.

A search under "soft foot" at this site will expose some earlier discussion.

Here is a 1.2MB pdf file which goes through a few design options. There is some good info but it is not extremely detailed. For instance no mention of ratio of equipment weight to foundation weight.

Dare I say, find a good civil engineer??? What you found is a very, very, common problem out there and fixing it is so easy. The problem is, not fixing it correctly is even easier....Thus, problems for us all to fix....

Let us know how you make out...
