Motor rated voltage

Our motor supplier has offered an IEC motor with a rated voltage 380-400-415V(Multivoltage). The supply voltage from the client is 400V +/- 10% so potentially the motor could see 360V & 440V. My question is would this motor be able to cope with these fluctuations? I know that there is a 10% tolerance on IEC motors but how does that work for multiple voltage?

Thanks very much

Should be fine. Watch for limitations on the ATEX certificate if this is a hazardous area motor - some don't allow large variance in the supply voltage.

I would connect the motor for 400V to give you the 10% in each direction. If you go with 380V, it may go above 10% on the high end. If you go with 415V, it may go below 10% on the low end.

I am an engineer, so the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

I'd be surprised if there are multiple tappings instead of the standard six posts.
