Check what exactly?

If we learn from our mistakes I'm getting a great education!

You may need a temporary neutral jumper to the star point connection to cope with the nonlinear temperature/resistance characteristic of incandescent lamps.
This should be from neutral to the shorting link of the shorting contactor. A mistake here may lead to a line to neutral fault. Remove this jumper before connecting the motor. Connect a lamp in place of each motor winding.
If you use standard 120 volt lamps on a 240 volt starter they will glow brightly on the star connection and extremely brightly on the delta connection. Plan on replacing the lamps after 10 or 20 minutes. 240 volt lamps are better.
Is this for a school shop project?
