Motor Voltage And Supply Voltage 1

Dear Anyone,

I have a situation;

We are supplying 415V motor for ventilation fan which is capable of move out 23,000 CFM of air. In this case, if we only got supply of 400V, does it affect the CFM rating?
Or, does the motor itself have it own Voltage Range that can accept the 400V to maintain the CFM?

The motor is not the CFM. It has to do with the actual fan, blower, or whatever. It is also very dependent on the pressure you are trying to achieve.

Motors just turn at their designed frequency. If you mess with the voltage they will draw more or less current in an attempt to keep the same speed.

Hello nfadzil and itsmoked

Generaly I believe a motor is happy running within +/- 10% of its rated voltage.

What about current is there a comfortable +/- range
for FLA of motors? Where do you like to see a motor
at? When do the red flags come out?

Something that effects motor rating is altatude, I did a job at 10,000 feet a few years ago, I think we derated the motors by 10%
