mouse gestures - dial/wheel not appearing! 1

Hi,

I am using 3Dconnexion Space Navigator in combination with Logitech notebook mouse. When I hold RMB in the view port using the mouse the mouse gesture dial/wheel doesn't appear as it does on my colleague's machine. My colleague is using only a mouse. We are both on 2012 SP 1.0. Funny thing is the appropriate gesture action can occur on my machine without ever seeing the dial/wheel.

Is this a fault of the Space Navigator being installed? anyone know of a remedy?

The wheel will only appear if you move the cursor slightly while depressing the RMB. The real idea is for the wheel to never be seen.
