Hi there everybody!

I'm operating ACAD 2000 on an Win XP operating system and I am having problems setting up my mouse properly. I have a Logitech wireless scroll wheel mouse and I cannot set the scroll wheel to operate as zoom in/out. Right now it will scroll up/down. Can someone tell what to do to fix this?

Thanks,
Rusk

Have you tried using the mbuttonpan command, setting it to 1?

I tried the Mbuttonpan command but it still scrolled up/down when it was set to 1.

Something I believe that I found on this site a few days ago.
This is for Windows 2000
If you go to the desk top and double click on the MY COMPUTOR, then CONTROL PANEL, then MOUSE, then choose the WHEEL tab. It has a troubleshooter section.
You will need to go through this process when you have trouble with your AutoCAD drawing. It will ask you to choose the drawing that you are having trouble with.Hope this helps.

Within AutoCAD 2000, set the mbuttonpan variable to 1.

Set your scroll button to AutoScroll using the Logitech driver Setup Buttons tab. It had defaulted to Universal Scroll which evidently does not work with mbuttonpan. Change the setting to AutoScroll.

Select USE MSOFFICE compatible scroll only. (Not entirely sure this setting is required.)

This way I was able to use the Logitech driver and all the features of my 5 button MX310 mouse.

I'm using Mouseware 9.78.

Good luck.

I had the same trouble. I uninstalled the Logitech software and all was well. Some of the more advanced features may not work, but I haven't noticed the loss.

Does your mouse have the 4th "thumb" button on the side? If so, after you uninstalled the logitech software does this button still work?

In the mean time, I seem to remember if you hold the shift key (or is it the ctrl key) down while scrolling it will work as zoom, even if it just scrolls up and down right now!

One thing to try is to take the scroll bars off the display your mouse will zoom in and out. Its under tools and display unclick the display scroll bars. It seemed to work for me and holding the wheel down I am sure you know automatacilly goes to realtime pan.
