Mouse Pointer problems

Hi all. Rainy Monday here in the Midwest.

What would cause my mouse pointer NOT to change shape in SW? I tried turning off large assemblies, still nothing changed.

My pointer stays the same arrow shape, but I get symbols next to it (line, surface, etc.) depending what I hover over.

Maybe a graphics card issue? What card/drivers do you have? Any special software for the mouse like with Logitech (Setpoint)? Might also be an option buried somewhere I'm not thinking about regarding relations or something.
