Hello,

What is the princible of using MOV and expansion joint?? MOV should be before expansion joint or not?? These components would be used on fuel oil line entrance of the distillate fuel oil storage tank...

Could be either.

Depends on what the expansion joint is trying to prevent and what is the purpose of the MOV.

If it's next tot he tank I would probably put the MOV on the tank nozzle with a support if required so that if the expansion joint fails, I can remotely isolate the tank and stop its contents from pouring out, equally you could argue it should be on the other side to reduce loads on the tank nozzle and shut off fluid entering the tank.

Get rid of the expansion joint and design the piping with enough flexibility to handle the movement without it.
