Dears;

I querying about any standard or reference that can a basis for the MOV (motor operated valve) Selection?
If not, How we can judge whether we need MOV or Manual Valve? in other way, when we use MOV over the manual valve?

The selection of the actuator type for the valve is based on the requirement of the process reaction time and operation response.
Also, the types of the valve actuator, either pneumatic actuator or electrical motor, may be selected based on the reliability of the power sources, either instrument air or the electrical power.

If I remember correctly, my previous Company standards recommend switching over from manual valve to MOV at DN350 and above. Where valves are operated frequently, I would suggest, for valves DN150 to DN300, to fitting an adapter plate on the manual valve stem that allows a portable air actuator to operate the valve when required. Makes life a little easier for operators.

Any standard or reference?

None I'm aware of but I'm sure thet are various company guidelines or recommended practices.

The judgement call is usually based on;
How long it takes?
How often does it open / close?
Is there a power supply / air supply close by?
Do you want or need to control it remotely?
How lazy are the operators?
How much money do you have to spend?

I've seen pipeline isolation valves at 36" which take 5 minute plus to wind close manually and valves as small as 1" with movs.

So yes 16" and bigger tend to be powered because it takes a long time to manually close or open them but it's up to you and each location to work it out based on those questions above.

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

Dears;
