Hi guys!!!

I have already a model with a DATUM CSYS at the bottom of the model, but I want to move it to a center position in the model.

My question is: Is there a way to move the DATUM CSYS without affecting the entire model? or Should I modify every sketch and feature on it?

Thanks

If NO feature or sketch was created which references the Datum CSYS, than you can move it without any consequences. An easy way to check for this is to open the Part Navigator and with it in default 'Timestamp' mode, select the Datum CSYS and see if any of the features in the list turns BLUE. If so, then these features are referencing the Datum CSYS and will be impacted by any move you perform on it.

But that being said, why not just create a NEW Datum CSYS at the desired location and then reference it for any new features/sketches which you wish to be associated with the "center position in the model"?

If the datum csys has no child features (check the dependencies window), you should be able to move it wherever you want.

If the datum csys does have child features, they will be affected by the move. This can be good or bad depending on what you are trying to accomplish. You will need to break the dependencies of any feature(s) you don't want affected by the datum csys move.
